Right in the heart of Europe, at one of Italy’s gates, nature has created an oasis in which it has concentrated the best of itself. Lake Maggiore, Italy’s second largest lake, exudes a special mystery due to its combination of strong contrasts. Its blue waters and Mediterranean vegetation are surrounded by no less than the highest mountains in Europe.

The lake draws an S, connecting the Alps with the Po Valley, and opens its profile in the Borromeo Gulf to accommodate an archipelago of five islands.
